Happy Thursday: A Monogrammed Life

What I Am Wearing- Monogrammed Shirt-Razzberry'z Gift Shoppe,Vest-Croft & Barrow, Jeans-American Eagle, Cowgirl Boots-Laredos, Earrings-Tory Burch, Watch-Michael Kors, Initial Bracelet-Altar'd State, Other Bracelets- Pandora Charm Bracelet and Layering Bracelet From Target, Crossbody Happy Bag-Dooney & Bourke

Honestly, I love dressing up. However, we all have days where you want to be comfy/relaxed yet cute. Today was one of those days. This outfit is perfect when the weather calls for those cold days and you want to dress cozy.

Lee University, where I attend college, inspired me to choose maroon as the color for my monogrammed shirt....Lee Flames pride! I then chose gold glitter as the color for the monogram. It truly makes the shirt pop! Also, the owner of Razberry'z Gift Shoppe was obsessed with my shirt after it was completed. I simply paired my shirt with my favorite accessories. This is a simple go-to outfit that I love.

XOXO

Meet a New Blogger Monday's

Hello readers, as always thank you for visiting Southern Ervin Living! I came up with an idea to meet new bloggers as well as introduce them to the blogging community. I began this new series and I am calling it,"Meet a New Blogger Monday's." I believe through interviews we can learn valuable information about a person. I hope ya'll enjoy reading these interviews as much as I enjoy giving them! Also, if you would like to participate in this series feel free to contact me! I would LOVE to meet you!

For my very FIRST interview for this series, Miranda, a member of Her Campus Blogger Network, volunteered to participate! She is the writer for Mermade Moments. I was SO excited that she had interest in doing this!

1. What is a day like in the life of Miranda?
- Well I wake up feeling like P Diddy... just kidding. I'm a receptionist by day and I bake out of my home at night. I commute 2 hours each way to work, so I'm usually pretty tired! If I'm not baking or hanging out with my boyfriend, I like to catch up on reality tv. Total guilty pleasure.

2. What inspired you to begin a blog?
- I've always written down what I do everyday in planners. I decided blogging is an even better way to catalog my life. I also always wanted to make blogger friends!

3. How long have you been blogging?
- I've been blogging for about 6 months.

4. What gives you inspiration for your blog posts and why?
- It just depends really. Sometimes I want to rant. Sometimes I have happy news to share. Other times, I want to share a really cool craft or cupcake I made. My goal is to inspire people with everything that I do, whether it be through my blog or something else.

5. Who is your favorite designer?
- Oh man, I'm terrible at picking favorites. I really love Lilly Pulitzer. Her prints?? Fabulous! Or Lauren Conrad. I want all of her stuff.

6. What special talents do you have?
- I don't think I have any! I can't burp. At all. Ever. So does that count? Haha!

7. What category would you list your blog under? Fashion, etc.?
- Lifestyle probably. I write about so many different things!

8. What/who in life is of most importance to you? Family, etc.?
- Well...Family. My best friend, Beth. My boyfriend, Jarad. My family for obvious reasons. My best friend because we have been friends since elementary school. We've never even had a fight! My boyfriend because he is everything I could've ever wanted! I was in a really unhealthy relationship before this and Jarad has been so patient and loving.

9. What is your dream career and why?
- I would LOVE to own a bakery. Spreading joy one cupcake at a time! I love the thought of people choosing me and my desserts for their special events. I get to be apart of people's happiest days!

10. What is the best reward you receive from blogging?- Honestly, the people I've met! All of the girls through the Her Campus Blogger Network have been amazing!!! They are so positive, constructive, and helpful! I love my blogger friends!

Here is to a special thanks to Miranda for participating. Everyone PLEASE go check her blog out at Mermade Moments !

XOXO

Styling Men's Button Up Shirts

Happy Wednesday Readers! Okay, so recently I have had a mild obsession for men's button up shirts. I have found myself stealing my husband's button ups out of the closet when getting ready. Why? Because they are oversized and comfy not to mention really versatile! I will show you a few ways on how to style them!

Styling Men's Shirts:Set 1

Jaeger black cropped pants, $200 / Tory Burch ballerina flat shoes / Kate Spade magnet bracelet / Kate Spade gold tone bracelet / Forever New pearl chain necklace, $23 / Round scarf / Jigsaw Slim Fit Small Collar Shirt, $135

This is typically how I wear men's button ups. I pair them with a Lilly Pulitzer Murfee Scarf and pearls for a pretty feminine look. I paired this look with black capris for a more classy upscale look. I completed it with Kate Spade bangles and Tory Burch flats.

Styling Men's Shirts:Set 2

Cynthia Rowley white pencil skirt / Jack rogers shoes / Lilly Pulitzer brown purse, $140 / Lilly Pulitzer necklace / Kate Spade black wrist watch / Jigsaw Slim Fit Small Collar Shirt, $135

For this look, I accented it with gorgeous gold accessories! I love how the turquoise makes the outfit pop. My favorite way to wear button ups is tucking them into skirts.

Styling Men's Shirts:Set 3

Old Navy skinny jeans / Tory Burch leather boots / Tory burch jewelry, $140 / Monogram necklace / Suzanne Bettley circular shawl, $32 / RALPH LAUREN BLUE LABEL plaid shirt

This was my go-to look for Fall. A men's plaid shirt paired with a chunky cozy scarf and riding boots. You cannot go wrong with this simple look.

Thank you to all of my readers!
Until next time!
XOXO

Welcoming Lilly Pulitzer To Knoxville With My Lilly Twin

Friendship Background/Reunion:
After meeting in high school and having all our classes together we became high school best friends. Along with our other friend Morgan, we became collectively known as MRM (Morgan, Rebeka, Morgan). It’s been nearly four years since we graduated from high school and it feels like it just happened yesterday. We’ve both gone our separate ways. Rebeka is now married, living about 2 hours away, and studying at Lee University. Morgan is student teaching in Maryville City and will graduate from Tennessee Tech University in May with a degree in Elementary Education. Even though we have gone our separate ways in life, some things will never change. We’ve always had the same style, thoughts, and ideas. To this day we still wear the exact same outfits on the same days without planning it. We share a brain and soul. Above all, we are TN bloggers and LILLY PULITZER SISTERS! When we found out that the Knoxville Lilly Pulitzer store was opening, we KNEW we had to experience it together! One the second day of it being open, we reunited to visit it together!

Here is what we experienced!

Store Details:

We were thrilled to find out that a Lilly store would be in our area, Knoxville TN! Shopping for LP just got a lot easier and more convenient!

The store opened on Valentine’s Day! By the second day of being open, we HAD to make a visit.
The displays were simply beautiful! Everything was super organized by item AND pattern. I loved that each section look completely different but equally as fabulous. We could have stared at the tables and racks ALL DAY!

When it came time to try on our fabulous finds, we were placed in the Knoxville dressing room! It was seriously SO perfect and bright! We both can agree we would LOVE for someone to paint a room in our house like this!

Our Favorite Item:
-The NEW Knoxville TN Print!-
Clearly the two of us was IN LOVE with the new “hometown print.” We both left the store with the Knoxville scarf.
Many people have asked, what is on the scarf?

Here are a few things that represent our town!

1. Neyland Stadium

2. Knoxville Riverboat

3. Iconic “Tennessee Theatre” sign in downtown (changed to say Palm Village)

4. Dogwood Flowers

5. The Dogwood Trail

6. Smoky Mountains

7. Market Square Dining

8. Black bears

What we bought:

Morgan:
1. Murfee Scarf-Knoxville TN Print ($118)
*I have loved the murfee scarves made by Lilly Pulitzer for a really long time. I own 4 already but THIS was a MUST BUY for me. There is nothing classier than wearing hometown pride in the design of the FAB Lilly Pulitzer.*

2. The Lilly White Dress-Macon Tunic Dress ($368)
*I’ve been looking for the PERFECT dress for graduation. I’m HAPPY to say I found it. I cannot wait to walk across the stage wearing my FAVE designer and my dream dress! I love that it’s timeless, classic, & also a little gypsy...just like me!*

Rebeka:
1. Murfee Scarf-Knoxville TN Print ($118)
*I have seriously been waiting on this print to come out for a long time! I have ALWAYS wanted a TN print. So when it finally did, I had to own this beautiful little piece of Knoxville, Lilly style!*

2. Charlotte Wristlet Phone Case- Resort White In The Garden ($58)
*I own one of the carded ID Wristlets. The downfall to this item is that it is made out of cloth material. Therefore, it gets dirty VERY easily! So when I came across the Charlotte Wristlet Phone Case I had to own it! The material is like leather so it can EASILY be spot-cleaned! I also fell in LOVE with the Resort White In The Garden print. This new Spring 2014 print was inspired by Forsythe Park in Savannah! It is absolutely STUNNING and so me!*
3. Michele V-Neck Top- Cabana Pink Sunnyside ($44)
*This top is a Lilly ESSENTIAL! Made from 95% cotton and 5% spandex this top is SUPER comfy! It will pair nicely with jeans, shorts, or capris! Not to mention the lions in light pink and green are ADORABLE!*
The best part about the store and this shopping experience?
Being able to be reunited with someone we haven’t seen in a long time. There is truly NO ONE we would have rather gone with than each other!

We forever will be Lilly Pulitzer sisters!

So, if you are IN Knoxville, AROUND Knoxville, or just passing through, stop by the Lilly Pulitzer Palm Avenue Store Today!

Surviving Winter: Morgan & Rebeka's Must Haves

Happy Wednesday readers! We have decided to write another co-blog about our top 3 Winter must haves! You can look for our co-blogs every Wednesday. We hope ya’ll enjoy! We look forward in hearing your comments/feedback.

Morgan's FASHION Winter Must Haves

1. Riding Boots: Everyone knows that with cold weather and winter comes boots. It’s almost embarrassing how many pairs of boots I have. Of course I own many different styles of boots, but my favorite is a classic leather riding boot. I own 4 pair and I wear them all the time and with all different outfits. I have one pair of Frye boots that are a vanilla color and they are hands down my favorite pair. I also own three pair of Steve Madden boots in random shades of brown. There forever will be something so classic, southern, and timeless about a good leather boot. One of my favorite/ dream pairs is by Tory Burch. $495 (Photo from Tory Burch website!)

2. Pea-Coats: A simple peacoat is something every southern lady should have in her closet. Like a little black dress and a nude pair of heels, a peacoat is a MUST HAVE! I have SO many peacoats that I’ve lost count. With the amount of colors you can find them in, the options are endless. They are classic and timeless but also add a bit of spunk to any outfit. My personal favorite place to buy them? J. CRew. They range in price from $50-$299. Even though they can get pricey..they are worth EVERY penny. This item is definitely an investment piece!

3. Scarves: When winter comes we are all looking to stay warm right? Well what if I told you that you could stay warm, look cute, AND brighten up the cold months for about $150? YES! Lilly Pulitzer scarves do JUST THAT! I cannot get enough of my Lilly scarves.

Rebeka’s BEAUTY Winter Must Haves:

1. BODY SCRUB-Everyone knows that dry skin comes with Winter. I love exfoliating my skin a few times a week that way I am free from rough scaly skin! Because who want’s that!? My personal favorite body scrub is Warm Vanilla Sugar, Golden Sugar Scrub, by Bath and Body Works. They are $16.50 a bottle and worth every penny! After every use my skin feels AMAZINGLY smooth because of the apricot and almond oils it has in it. Not to mention the scent of warm vanilla sugar smells heavenly! (Photo: Courtesy of Bath and Body Works)

2. PHILOSOPHY, HOPE IN A JAR-This gentle moisturizer exfoliates and moisturizes in one step. The best part is that it is non-oily so it won’t leave your face looking shiny. I love how it makes dull winter skin look more radiant and healthy looking. Hope in a jar seriously will perform a miracle on your face! This is one step in my morning routine I CANNOT go without. The price ranges depending on the size you wish to purchase-$15-$117 (Photo: Courtesy of Philosophy)

3. BABY LIPS- I have not had chapped lips one time this Winter because I ALWAYS wear Baby Lips by Maybelline New York! I have found that this lip balm gives you SUPER smooth lips! They are $3.99 each and I literally have 4 different ones! The medicated lip balm is my favorite. They hydrate for up to 12 hours! I also love that you can get them in different shades of pink for a PERFECT touch of color. (Photo: Courtesy of Maybelline)

OUR SHARED WINTER PICK

When trying to decide on one WINTER STAPLE that we BOTH could not live without, the first thing that we could decide on was Patagonia pullovers. Clearly we both love them considering our outfits today were identical. We both paired our favorite pullover (Morgan’s=Dark Teal with purple outline; Rebeka’s=Grey with fuschia outline) with another one of the items on the list: Lilly Murfee scarves.

The best part about Patagonia pullovers? The fact that they can be worn in many different ways. They can be dressed up or dressed down.

Plain & simple: they are cozy and perfect for this snowy weather!

With a plethora of colors and styles to choose from, the outfit options are ENDLESS!

We hope you enjoy our winter picks as much as we do!
